When will the Average District Attendance numbers be available?

SELF anticipates receiving these numbers by April 15, 2006 from the California Department of Education.

Where does SELF get the ADA information for the Excess Liability Program?

SELF receives a file from the California Department of Education with the Lottery ADA as given by the Principal Apportionment Unit. This file may contain ADA for Charter Schools that did not report financial information.

Full Time Equivalents are used for community colleges and California State University.

Where does SELF get payroll information for the Excess Workers' Compensation Program?

SELF receives a file from the California Department of Education that contains the certificated and classified salaries as reported on the Local Education Agencies (LEAs) from two-year-old unauditied actuals submissions. Salary data, the total expenditures and the salary data for just the SACS LEAs are also included.

How does SELF get the ADA/payroll/FTE data used to bill districts for premiums?

All data is provided by the California Department of Education, California Community College District and California State University. SELF does not calculate those figures.

What other factors are involved in SELF's calculation of the premium?

The only other factor used in the calculation of the premium is the statewide average rate of excused absenses. That number is 1.04446 for school districts and 0.8822 for community colleges as dictated by the California State Government Code 8880.5.
