Optional Excess Coverage
The third installment for the Optional Excess Liability Program (OELP) through United Educators Insurance Reciprocal Risk Retention Group is currently being finalized. The OELP coverage is in excess of a member's $15 million retention level and is effective July 1 through June 30. SELF arranges OELP coverage on a group purchase basis to individual member districts.

Members who are part of the OELP program were billed with their regular invoice. Because this is an insurance product, our ability to provide this coverage is based on the volume of districts wishing increased liability limits. Districts who elected OELP but have not yet paid for the excess coverage this year will be dropped from the program. As stated in the SELF Bylaws, members who want to change their retention level must do so by June 1, 2003.

If a member would like to join the OELP, you can contact the SELF office for an application form or download the form off the SELF website.
