Risk from above, below and within were the topics explored at SELF's annual When Bad Things Happen to Good Schools Workshop in late October. Julian Brewer, of The AGOS-Group which co-sponsored the workshop with SELF, delved into the dangers created by bullying in our schools and other issues that can lead to large loss claims. Michelle Kelley, of Poms & Associates, took a look at emergency and disaster preparedness and the unique difficulties that will be experienced by schools should a flu pandemic hit our shores. The AGOS-Group also provides SELF members with interactive risk management tools that can be accessed through SELF's Website by clicking on the SELF HR-Source icon. The feature has been augmented by AGOS to allow members to create their own user-id and password without the assistance of AGOS staff. Members can find the bullying prevention program available for their use through this feature as well as the sexual molestation prevention program from the 2005 Good Schools Workshop . Other materials from previous workshops dating back to 2001 can be found on the Presentations page. |
