The SELF Board approved a new staffing model for the Excess Workers' Compensation Program that will add two claims examiner positions into the mix. The Excess Workers' Compensation Program staff previously consisted of Director of Worker's Compensation Stephen Schempp, an independent consultant/examiner and a clerical position. One of the examiner positions was filled by SELF staff member Jessica Vega, who has been with SELF for four years. Vega, who is currently studying for her ARM, has held a variety positions at SELF. Athena Aaron joined the SELF staff on March 10 as a senior examiner. Aaron has been working in the field for more than 20 years and has worked extensively with schools during that time. Schempp said these additions to the WC staff will allow staff to serve the members better and become more proactively involved in the handling of their claims. |
