Senior Litigation Manager
The position of Senior Litigation Manager will be an at-will position under the direction of SELF’s Director of Claims. The ideal candidate for the position will have a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 15 years of increasingly responsible experience in casualty insurance claims adjusting, reporting, management and settlement work. Previous California public entity claims experience is highly desirable and Juris Doctorate degree is preferred.
This person will oversee a caseload of complex liability claims within the SELF Excess Liability Program and will work closely with the SELF claims team, defense attorneys and pool members to ensure appropriate management of legal matters. The SLM will be responsible for providing guidance and advice in defending claims against SELF members, assisting in assigning and managing defense counsel and developing litigation and settlement strategies with a collaborative team consisting of members, claim adjusters, attorneys and other business partners.
SELF offers a competitive compensation package including CalPERS retirement and a generous health and welfare benefit package. Beginning salary range is $150,000 to $175,000 DOE. The SELF office is located in downtown Sacramento but offers flexible remote work opportunities.
